It’s
a new (fiscal) year and a new board for CSI – CI.
Outgoing president Steve Watrous passed the gavel to incoming president,
Vic Wieland, CSI, CCS, AIA, at the chapter’s annual July planning
meeting. Vic is an architect with RDG Planning & Design. He
joined the firm in September of 1985 after working with architectural
firms in Austin, MN and Richmond, VA. He received a Bachelor of
Architecture degree from North Dakota State University in 1980.
He has been a member of the Central Iowa Chapter of CSI since 2001
and has served on the board as Vice President – Professional
since 2007.
Other new Chapter officers this year include Wayne Smith, CSI CCS
AIA NCARB, an architect with Brooks Borg Skiles, serving as President-Elect;
Mary Pearce, CSI, with Shive-Hattery, Inc., serving as Vice President
- Professional; and Mike Warner, CSI, with Masonry Products, Inc.,
serving as Vice President - Industry. Past President, Steve Watrous,
will serve as the Regional Director.
J. Mark Schmidt, CSI CCS AIA LEED AP, of HLKB Architecture, is continuing
to serve as Treasurer and Steve Richardson, CSI, McKeon Door Company,
as Secretary.
At the national, regional, and particularly here, the local chapter
level, CSI is committed, now more than ever, to enhancing the value
of your membership. Stay tuned for more information about this in
