July 2010

It’s a new (fiscal) year and a new board for CSI – CI.

Outgoing president Steve Watrous passed the gavel to incoming president, Vic Wieland, CSI, CCS, AIA, at the chapter’s annual July planning meeting. Vic is an architect with RDG Planning & Design. He joined the firm in September of 1985 after working with architectural firms in Austin, MN and Richmond, VA. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from North Dakota State University in 1980. He has been a member of the Central Iowa Chapter of CSI since 2001 and has served on the board as Vice President – Professional since 2007.

Other new Chapter officers this year include Wayne Smith, CSI CCS AIA NCARB, an architect with Brooks Borg Skiles, serving as President-Elect; Mary Pearce, CSI, with Shive-Hattery, Inc., serving as Vice President - Professional; and Mike Warner, CSI, with Masonry Products, Inc., serving as Vice President - Industry. Past President, Steve Watrous, will serve as the Regional Director.

J. Mark Schmidt, CSI CCS AIA LEED AP, of HLKB Architecture, is continuing to serve as Treasurer and Steve Richardson, CSI, McKeon Door Company, as Secretary.

At the national, regional, and particularly here, the local chapter level, CSI is committed, now more than ever, to enhancing the value of your membership. Stay tuned for more information about this in upcoming newsletters. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or comments about your membership, always feel free to contact a board member or CSI national directly. We deeply appreciate your continued support of CSI and look forward to a great year of programs and events. Come join us starting Tuesday, September 28th as we kick off our chapter meetings for an exciting and rewarding new year!

Sincerely,
