About Us
CSI Central Iowa is a local chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute, a national association of more than 8,000 construction specifiers, architects, engineers, contractors, facility managers, product representatives, manufacturers, owners, and others involved in the construction and building industries.
The mission of the Construction Specifications Institute is to improve building performance and project delivery through education, certification, and development of industry standards and best practices. To further this goal, CSI Central Iowa offers local education and networking opportunities to building industry professionals in the Greater Des Moines and Ames metropolitan areas. Some of our initiatives include:
Monthly meetings, which include guest speakers, for education and networking during a program year that runs from September to May.
Group study classes for the CSI’s Construction Documents Technology (CDT) certification.
Annual golf tournament.
Monthly newsletters featuring chapter activities and industry updates for the Central Iowa region.
Scholarships to students studying to enter the construction and building industries at Iowa State University.
Periodically hosting a regional conference for CSI’s North Central Region, with which we’re affiliated.
